You’ve heard of TED Talks. Well now we’re bringing TEDx Talks to Calgary. Our organizing theme is around those people who are operating on the boundaries of convention attempting to build a better society.

The image (introduced to us by Jon Perkins) we are using to represent the pioneering journey is the Flammarion wood engraving named after it’s appearance in Camille Flammarion’s 1888 book about meterology. It depicts a man kneeling down and peeking through a gap beyond to earth to behold the wonders of the heavens.

As the Creative Director for TEDxCalgary, I couldn’t help be inspired by this image and created the TEDxCalgary teaser video to give a hint at what was to come.
