is a nonprofit organisation that provides training and consulting to organizations that work directly with populations in developing countries who lack access to clean water and basic sanitation.

CAWST, the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology, wanted to build an educational resource for high school students to connect them with global issues as well as youth activism in Nepal. So they commissioned me to spend four weeks in Kathmandu, Nepal working with the youth and helping to draw out the stories they wanted to tell.

But this was more than just a filmmaker swooping in to catch a story. It was also a capacity developing trip where we taught basic camera skills and had them shoot the stories.

The result is a 20 minute documentary that gives insight into the challenges in developing countries but as well as the energy they bring to their communities.

We’re just putting the finishing touches on it and I look forward to sharing their story soon!
